Mahant Ghasi Das Smarak Museum

In the year 1875, Raja Mahant Ghasidas of Rajnandagaon built the Mahant Ghasi Das Memorial/Smarak Museum. The museum houses two storeys with a library and five galleries. The library has a unique and detailed collection of the most important events and happenings of the history of the town. It is a very well preserved and administered museum which has a rare and a classic collection of coins, inscriptions, and sculptures of age old times. Some natural species which are also kept here and attract tourists’ attention are the various types of birds and snakes, caged and nurtured here.
